Happy Chuseok Korea!

Look how cute the little suckers are.
So This week was Chuseok, meaning nothing to me other than I got 3 days off. I kid, I kid. Chuseok, as you may remember from my post last year (Woah, thats intense) is kind of like thanksgiving. Awesome. Its really traditional I guess, so we had a Chuseok party at school for the kiddos. They were so cute in their hanbocks

They played traditional games (I guess, I don't know.) and made syeongpyon, which is a type of korean desert.
Yum
It was a fun day, and we were rewarded with the next 3 days off, the adventures of which will be relived in my next post.

Patience, Faith, and a lot of cute kids,

Weekend

I realized that a few of my blogposts have elluded to the fact that I am not digging life here, and when I had a broken foot, I wasn't (althought I'mfairly sure I would have been just as miserable anywhere). But I ha one of those weekends which reminds me why I love my life so much, and how much fun I actually do have, and that Korea isn't so bad.

Saturday I didn't have to go to the Poly Workshop since I'm leaving, So I had a relaxing saturday around beomgye. It was nice, I was able to get some things done, although noto going to the post office which was a bummer. oh well. Saturday night I went down to Suwon to the World Cup stadium to watch the team play. I met up with Brad and his friend and we drank a fair amount of beer, and had alot of fun. Everybody clears out of the stadium immediatly, but we sat there and fiished our beer until well after the lights were turned off. It was heaps of fun, and really kind of neat. I also learned how to play spades, although I'm not that good at it :)

Today was Sunday Funday in Itaweon, with a few friends. We ate lunch, chatted. I did some shopping, and it was an all around a good time. THe girl I will hopefully be going to china with has been doing hella research and its going to be awesome, but more on that later :)

So in retrospect, my life here is grand. I am excited about moving on, but its really a good time.

Full Circle

I'm sitting in my apartment, listening to the rain and relaxing overall. A completly unremarkable day, except for the fact that I've been in Korea for exactly a year. As I look back on the person I was, the terrified girl alone in the airport, I can't help but smile at the person I've become.
Although I am sad in some ways that my departure from KOrea is looming, knowing the adventures of the last year makes me very excited for the journey of the next few.

Then....I AM GOING TO BE IN THE STATES. Expect many blog posting relating around the food I eat and the beer I guzzle.
Then, I am moving to CHIANG MAI, to take a class, backpack through thialand and get PADI scubadiving certified in Phuket.
